your local hardware store will sell such a thing, if you dont want to buy, then try hiring from such a place like you would hire garden machinery. Yummy Apples, hope you dont get all the way to the top and find the birds have been there first.

A mail order company in Canada sells an item it calls a, "fruit picker." It sits on an extension pole, which, according to their website, they no longer sell. Such a pole would be available from nearly any hardware store. The picker may be harder to find, but is still available from Lee Valley.

Here is the URL : http://www.leevalley.com/garden/page.aspx?c=1&p=10165&cat=2,2120,33277&ap=1

If that doesn't work go to http://www.leevalley.com and look for item #HK300.

Hope this helps!

The only catalog that I have listing this item is Stark Bros. It is called an "Economy Fruit Harvester". The price is $19.99 and it says it will attach to any broom handle or dowel. I would buy an extendable paint roller pole myself, if the tree is that tall. The item number is H1663. I hope this is what your looking for and Best of Luck!!!

Make one.

A long stick with a Y shaped hook and a hoop with a bag (like a fishing or butterfly net) on the end.

Pick only a few apples at a time to avoid bruising (assuming you want to store some)

get an extension arm, the same sort of thing they use to pick up litter, or the sort of thing the disabled use.. any good mobility shop or hardware store should be able to provide you with one.
