I saw the Departed a few weeks ago. I was struck by the interesting story, which is part character study and thriller. There is the nearly all male cast of some of today's finest actors. Not only is their acting dazzling but they are sure pretty to watch.
The directing is first rate and the story rings true, despite the intense violence. This is a gripping movie but certainly not a feel-good movie. Don't expect to leave the theatre on a happy note. You'll be a little dazed instead.

Yes Cassnadra W is right, one of the best movies I've seen this year. Everyone else is right too, its truly amazing. I went to see it in the weekend and I loved every minute of, I can't wait to get my own copy of it on DVD. If you want to compare it to Mission Impossible 3 'genre' wise The Departed wins no contest. Very interesting storyline with an unexpected ending. I can keep babbling on to tell you how much I love it but I'll leave you with the trailer (below in sources) and let the trailer convince to go and see it.

Hi. Yes, The Departed is a fantastic movie to watch, but I agree with Marie B, its not a feel good movie, rather its quite thought provoking. Go watch it or you can try the Open Season if you like animation.

One of the coolest movies I've seen this year. I've been waiting for Martin Scorcese to make another mob film. In my book it's right up there w/ Goodfellas and Casino. He did a great job casting this movie. Mark Wahlberg,Matt Damon,Jack Nicholson and Leonardo DiCaprio. You can't go wrong with a cast like that.

Departed is excellent, some great performances all round.
Getting close to Halloween so Saw 3 which comes out tonight might be worth a look.
Highly recommend Borat for laughs, it comes out next week though! Saw preview on Wednesday night and I almost pissed myself.

I saw this film, it is quite good, with good acting and an interesting plot. The cast line-up was good too.
The only thing that let the film down was that there have been similar story-lines before, but with different scenario's.
Having said that though I would still recommend seeing it!
