there is always hope. but, if we look at it logically, along with all the other insanity that is modern man, it DOES make our hope seem as though it borders on foolish. but, hope springs eternal, and is personal to each person. it cant be squashed from us by the stupidity of the world...although, it can be hard to hold on to at times....

Of course there is! Whenever a liberal asks a question it's always best to look at the basis for the question. It's always rooted in a lie. The lie here assumes that since one person made money, other people lost it. Nothing can be farther form the truth. Did Bill Gates stick the cash in his matress, or did he invest or spend it in some way? If the money isn't hidden in his matress (and it certainly isn't) He used it. If he used it, someone else has it. Some employee got a raise or a bonus and they spent it on a brand new yaght or a sports car. If they bought a boat, someone had to make the boat; and they got a paycheck. Maybe Microsoft stock went up, and some elderly person got a dividend? Would you like to take that dividend away from the elderly just to punish Bill Gates?
Money doesn't disappear after it's spent. it's circulated. The fact that someone is able to earn that much shows a good strong robust economy.
So, Chicken little, The sky doesn't fall when Bill Gates makes a profit.

Yes, absolutely there is. What there is no hope for is the species which is consumed by class jealousy and envy, and who adopt economic policies that dictate that a brain surgeon be paid the same as a janitor. We've seen the results of economies where people are not permitted to become rich, and the results 100% of the time are not pleasant.
Please take an economics course sometime. I mean that for real, not to be insulting or patronizing. Too much thinking nowadays in this area is dominated by political dogma and base emotions rather than sound economic theory. But like ignoring the laws of physics by jumping off a roof and demanding to nature that you can fly, the laws of economics WILL come back to bite you if you try to ignore them.
You may not like that Bill Gates has as much money as he does, but he acquired his fortune through his own efforts and skills by providing something to people that they find to be of value. There's nothing to prevent people from running MacOS, Linux, or some other operating system. Bill Gates has never held a gun to anyone's head to force them to buy his products.
So I have to ask: what do you have against success? Is it merely the scale of his success? How much success do you think is enough, at what point should a person withdraw his products or services from sale and say, "No, you can't buy any more"? Should all musicians be limited in the number of albums they can sell? Should authors be limited in the number of books they can sell? Should your own profession be limited in how much money it can make for you?
More to the point, who determines just how much earnings are too much, and what gives them the right to do so? What if someone else decides that YOU have too much money? Maybe you don't earn a lot now, but should you be forever cut off from the possibility of becoming rich one day?
Because when success becomes a crime, then what hope for the future is there for any of us? Are Albania, North Korea, and the former USSR _really_ the economic models we should be striving for?

Of course there is tremendous hope for our species under the circumstances that you have stated, for better him than someone of atrocious malevolence like Hitler. Gates's benevolent genius is why you are pounding on that keyboard on the Worldwide WEB, text messaging your buddies on your cel-phone, and are surgically fused to your i-pod. These and more are such amazing tools and information systems at your very fingertips, which has produced a robust economic engine of profound prosperity and tremendous secondary benefits for the entire Human Species, including and due to Gate's selfless philanthropy, donating literally 100's of millions of dollars to cancer and medical research and the complete overhauling of the American education system (currently a national catastrophe) to insure a much brighter future for our nation and the world. He should be a positive and great inspiration to you and others of the immense heights that you too can possibly achieve living in this very unique and blessed nation unlike any other place on Earth.

Nigelbest and bill gates started the same way. So did I . Gates did not know that he deserved it. The millions found his invention useful to them and to the Humanity. People like YOU and I gave him that money. He did not steal it from you.
Also, look at this angle. Nigelbest and people like me will never , ever give a dollar for any cause let alone for a HIV patient in India or africa. Instead he took the money from you ( selling his product) and channelled the money BY THE BILLIONS to the needy places.
We should aknowledge his effort and not critisize.I may add that when melinda and Bill land in India the people here adore him and love him .Not for his Microsoft but for his heartsoft.

Well, Bill Gates himself wouldn't fool himself believing he deserves - isn't he now begun giving some back to appease his own conscience a bit?
Bill will pay for what he has got extra - the human species would survive all this without a whisker - what it wouldn't survive is the erosion of morality in general.

Life belongs to those who use it. Have you noticed what he does with the money he EARNED??He said "with great income comes great responsibility".do you know all the good works he does for humanity?? what have you used you money for? oh yes, there is no hope for those who spend their time in jealous criticism of others.I pray bill gates will attain control of all the wealth in the world, for i know he would use it wisely,as few could do.
