Buffalo Sabres Rivals

2016-10-22 07:01:13 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Christoph... S>>>>> *** whooping on my Habs when the first game the Sabres got lucky and scored with 15 seconds left, and won in shot-out, then OK they won 4-1 the last game but that's not an *** whooping. what the Sabres did to the Flyers well that's something else. but since the 70's and 80's Habs vs Sabres have been great rivalries and Toronto was in those days in the Western conference.
so Sabres biggest rival over the years my Montreal Canadiens.

and like someone said the Leafs were 10-0-0 in regulation no overtime games there was no shootout chance to win after the tie. the Sabres are 10-0-0 with 3 wins in shootout, with the NEW rules, so they really would be 7-0-3 . so they shouldnt even get the record.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Historically the biggest rival of the Sabres has been Boston, the two teams have been in the same division ever since Buffalo's inception and have played one another 223 regular season games. Boston is one of 5 teams they have a losing record against (Edmonton, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Vancouver are the others).

Also, Buffalo has played more playoff games against Boston than any other team except Philadelphia.

Rivals
Boston 223 games .482
Montreal 213 games .512
Hartford/Carolina 159 games .579
Pittsburgh 146 games .503
Toronto 144 games .604

The rivals of the Sabre's are the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes.

The legendary rivalry between the Sabres and Toronto is huge! Tie Domi and Rob Ray went at it every time they played. Also Toronto is only an hours drive away from Buffalo, so tons Leafs Fans drive on down. The Leafs fans also come because its easier to get tickets here in Buffalo than in Toronto.

Everyone in Buffalo hates the Hurricanes (Except for the parents of Kevyn Adams). They beat us in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals last year. There were a plethora of things that happened during the series. For example, a sports reporter from Carolina was ripping on our Sabres! Buffalonians drove down to the RBC Center during the series and were goin crazy there! There were most definatly brawls. A talk show had someone go down to the RBC Center last year and people were threating him like crazy. That pretty much means RIVALRY right there. No one in Buffalo likes Eric Staal or Rod Brind'Amour or Cam Ward any of them.

Who is the biggest rival of the Buffalo Sabres?

I would have to say it is Toronto. Always an awesome game to go to when Toronto is in town. As for Montreal.....I don't think as them to be a "rival", more to the effect of good competition. The Sens aren't their biggest rival.....I don't think there is any bad blood between those 2 teams. Just that Buffalo keeps putting a whooping on them.

I so miss the days of the Quebec Nordiques when they were Buffalo's biggest rival.....those were some great smash mouth games.

Salt, we all know what it does to a slug. Seriously though do they have a biggest rival? I remember before the Penguins were moved to the Atlantic and played in the Northeast and don't remember the Sabres having a big rival.

Historically, it's Toronto, though of course in any given season a team's "Rival" often depends on who is close to them in the rankings.

But in terms of a longer-standing rivalry, it's Toronto.

Interesting thing about that rivalry, though... there is a lot of respect there on both sides. It's not one of those rivalrys (e.g., Bills vs. Dolphins) were it's driven by hate of the other team. I know a lot of Sabres and a lot of Leafs fans, and they always respect their opposition & just enjoy the rivalry.

I think their biggest rivals are the Montreal Canadians. But what team dose not consider the Canadians a rival?
