It may not have anything with the length of sleep but rather, your diet?? do you eat a lot of sluggish foods??i.e carbs??
or do you exercise?? exercising makes you feel more energetic if you make it part or your routine..
Maybe you are actually oversleeping?? A good remedy to find how many hours of sleep are right for you (you may only need 6 hours a night??) is to start with 10 hours sleep a night for 2 night and record how you feel in the morning.. then the following 2 night have only 9 hours sleep and record how you feel..etc.. then try 8 hours for 2 nights, then try 7 hours for 2 nights, then try 6 hours.. see what amount of hours made you feel the best.. Most Adults 20-40yrs are only meant to have 7-8hours a night.. our need to sleep as long decreases with age.. babies sleep longest at 16-18hours a day, children & teenagers generally 10 hours, adult 7-8 hours, middle aged 6-7 hours & aged persons usually only need about 6 hours sleep.. worth a shot, My ideal time is 8 hours... any longer I feel grumpy, any shorter I feel tired all day..
Good Luck :)

It is possible that you may have a sleep disorder, because you are getting at least an hour or so over the recommended time to sleep.

Sometimes when we sleep too much, we feel drained, and sometimes when we don't sleep enough it is also the same. Try experimenting with different sleep patterns, but if neither more or less sleep helps, you should go and see your doctor and see if he can diagnose you with some sort of sleeping disorder.

Even mild things like trouble staying asleep, trouble going to sleep, and trouble waking up can be classed as a disorder.

There is a medical condition called "Sleep Apnea" that causes people not to get restful sleep. These people spend the night gasping for air and do not get REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement) where most of the relaxation for the brain occurs. Have Someone check if you are having normal , restful breathing when you sleep. If not, check with your doctor, it could be a serious condition affecting your health adversely.

You could have sleep apnea, or some other sleep disorder which is causing you not to get a good nights sleep. You should speak to your doctor about this.
