This wasn't a serious relationship when it started. We had unprotected sex couple of times. Now if she becomes pregnant and I refuse a baby, what are the legal rights she might have? Do I have pay for child support even though we are not married?

Of course you'll have to pay child support whether you are married or not, if you don't and the child has to be supported by welfare the state and the federal government can garnish YOUR wages in order to pay the state back...the government can withhold your income tax return for payment of child support. So either you willingly pay it or the government will more than willingly take it from you.
As for your girlfriend's legal rights she has the right to decide for HERSELF if she wants to gestate to term and raise the child, gestate to term and put the baby up for adoption or have an abortion...These are HER choices and she doesn't HAVE to do what YOU want her to do, and YES you will STILL have to pay child support even if you don't WANT her to keep the baby...if you didn't want to pay child support you should have kept your drawers up and your denims zipped.

Where I live, yes if a mother wants to, she can take you to court and file for a DNA test to be done to prove paternity. Once paternity is established, then you would be court ordered to pay child support.

She also has the right to not persue paternity. If this is the case, then you would not have to pay support, but you would not be able to see your child either. (But if you are talking about refusing a baby, then I assume this would not matter to you)

You can't just refuse a baby because the relationship was not serious. Sorry, but you should have thought about the possibility of getting a woman pregnant before you even thought about having sex.

She will take you to court for a DNA test to first prove this child is yours and if the baby is yours then yes- you will pay child support. Even though you are not married you still had sex with her... why would you think you aren't legally obligated to care for a child that YOU created? Probably should think before you stick that thing anywhere and this wouldn't be an issue.

You helped make the baby, the baby is half yours, which means you will have to pay child support, legally binding until that child turns 18, if you don't and she files a complain, you can get jail time, it looks a lot better with the law,and courts if you volunteer the $$,otherwise, they will assign you an amount to pay monthly based on your income,or however else they decide to do it!

If she is pregnant and its yours...you have a obligation to that child till its 18. You can refuse all you want. She can take you to court and by law you have to pay support till its 18. Should have thought with your brain in your head and not the brain in your penis before having unprotected sex. Buy yourself a box of condoms next time.

First of all, even though it wasnt a serious relationship, you still have responsibility for that child. If she is smart she will take you to court, get a paternity test, and if you are the father you are required by law to pay child support. If you dont you go to jail. Any man who doesnt pay to support his child belongs in jail anyways.

all right here it is......first she has to take you to court for dna, second they will take your wages and hers and see how much you can afford, 3 the visitation comes in and thats on you to pick up and take home the child.....4 you could pay till the child is 23 if they go to college also half of the tuition for the college that the child goes to....then you have to worry about the life time of borrowing and begging throuout the years for money and stick to the court order never give extra due to the fact its not on court order....no money in hand.......but do do for the child as in what his or her needs are and what they want the child should never do with out...and yes i do have children but i have learned from my fathers mistakes to his first wife and may mother and her ex husband.....so i do have experience in this also my 2 daughters fathers......the men get reamed and the children shitted on and the mother gets scandlest so be care full.....and for the most part if the mother gives the child up for adaption you have the right to raise it before the adaption people.....you are the childs biological father and you will have to give your rights up too...but only if you want to not a have too.....that isn't based on the womans decision....hope you have some luck in this

well, the really unfortunate thing for you is that whether you want her to have an abortion or not, if she has the baby you will have to pay child support.

if you find the right lawyer you could defeat the system because of the fact that you don't want her to have the baby.

what you should do is next time, think about it first, then ask the girl before you have sex "if you were to get pregnant, would you have an abortion?" if she says anything other than "yes." don't have sex with her condom or not.

thats about the only way to protect yourself, and that might have some legal standing in a court.
