I am trying to fix my MPV, and I think the water is flowing backwards, the top hoses are cold when the bottom hoses are screaming hot. I have replaced the thermostat and the radiator already. Is it possible for a water pump to run backwards??

If the vehicle was alright before....with the water pump, it shouldn't be a problem there. I know of just a few pumps that run one way for serpentine belt versus v-belt....but nowadays they all are serpentine....anyway.... I would almost guess that the thermastat was put in backwards. The thermastat side should feed the radiator...and be the hot side....and usually is the upper side. If the thermastat was in wrong...it pushes the water flow against the "door", so it can't open. Make sure you got out all the air from the system too.... Good luck.

No way fro a pump to run backwards. Some cars run the hot into the bottom with the idea that natural convection will make the water circulate better.
