I believe its a way to endear them. When you call someone's name you are acknowleding or requesting that one person only. You give them the respect of stating their existent and the luxury of believing that you need, whether its for just that one moment or a lifetime. Hearing someone call your name whether it be in sex, in agony, screaming after a joke or even trying to find your whereabouts makes you feel wanted and loved, needed and accepted. Its a powerful thing to call someone's name.
