Please tell me I am not chatting with youth only as that would just be depressing.
I am afraid to ask questions as I would not want MY children to see some of the answers/questions on here.
I really think a requirement of 18 is in order.
What do you think?

It is nice to hear from the grown ups!

I did not mean my kids were on the net.
I meant that I would not want my own kids to view some of the materials on here. I am concerned about other children viewing also..... parents can't control everything.

It is naive to think that parents have this much control when it comes to internet usage.
Yahoo!Answers could however control it!

I don't care what people say on here....I just care about the kids reading it.

Jalena, I understand what you are saying but the truth is that most teens should NOT be having sex. A separate teen Yahoo!Answers could be added for the questions concerning teens with some guidance counselors added in the mix.

ale15,
I am speaking of more security than that.
If Yahoo did that then yes that is exactly what would happen.

Yep! I'm 31 and I agree that there are too many kids on here - especially ones who are posing as adults and asking inappropriate questions. I think it should be an 18+ site also.

I am 17 and I disagree with the 18+ requirement.
Teenagers have questions too and many of them can give good advice. So, I do not see the reason why there should be an age limit.
Sure, some teenagers or even kids are disturbing, but that's how life is. Some grown-ups are disturbing too.
I would say that there should be a "Sex" section, and only adolescents could have access to that forum. However, there should also be a "Teen Sex" section, where teens could solve some problems.
After all, teens have sex too.
If you mean other questions (not about sex) well, I can't imagine what else could make you afraid of your children watching it.

LoL I know whatcha mean. It's usually fairly easy to tell by the way questions or answers are worded, and WHAT they ask. I've been fooled a few times, but when I do talk to those younger, it's more in a "older brother" theme. I shudder to think how easily some kids forget that ya may not REALLY know who yer talking to.
Personally, If I have an adult issue question, I'll still throw it out there, but would be worded such that it's clear I'm not lookin for garish, or tittilating replies. That way, I figure if the younger crowd is looking, they'll be getting information for future reference.

Hi Mandy,
Im 32, and here out of shear morbid curiousity. I would say perhaps the lightheartedness of youth would be refreshing after seeing the depressing news pop up. Your right though, some an/ques are a bit stretched but heck it made me chuckle for a sec and forget about the ugly world.

I'm 30, and this isn't a chat room, so we aren't chatting here. Not all of the questions are perverted, but you always get one or two people that insist on taking this to gutter level, I just ignore them. Kids could learn a lot from this site, there are some great questions.

I'm 26, and an age requirement probably won't change much around here, unfortunately. I do know a few lads who are under 16 who are fabulous and caring people here, so there is still some good left in the young :)

I am within the age of 20 and 30 yrs. old.

If the older crowd was not here then Yahoo Answers would be for the Dogs.
