Your friends skin tone must have to do with recessive genes that her parents carried. Even though they are light skinned, some of their parents - your friends grandmother for example - were darker and so her parents carried that DNA. Since you can't change your skin color tell your friend to look at women like Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Iman etc., these women are recognized around the world as beautiful and they have dark skin.

I think you're being extra sensitive. I'm sure you say things to her too. If you're "extremely" proud of your skin why are you writing a yahoo answers question? She probably calls you a porch monkey because you hang outside on the porch and look like a monkey. HAHA J/K Just make fun of her back.

The dna in all people are the same. We are all alike. No matter what the color of the skin. That is just a color, doesn't mean one thing.
We are all people, and we are all equal
Who we are and what we are are on the inside, a lovely person, can be any color. I love color, what would we do if we were all alike?
I don't think I would like that at all.

Just that she's beautiful the way she is, and she doesn't need to damage her skin to be beautiful. Plain and simple. Tell her how lucky she is that she can wear really bright colors--us white people look awful in shades like lime green, but I bet she'd look great!

Like My mother used to tell me. God never makes mistakes and if he chose to create her, he made her in a perfect image.. Its only the lowly bigoted media crazed dumbos that think otherwise.

Tell her that you wouldn't like it if she changed her skin colour, because she already looks beautiful. Try and compliment her on her looks more often. But remember, it is her choice.
