Why did we go to war?
A democrat's response: for money and oil.
Why did some random event happen?
A democrat's response: because someone made money off of it.

I'm getting sick of hearing these democrats talk about everything happening because of money. This is why Republicans get things done in office....it's because we look at all aspects of situations: not just the monetary gain aspect.

Dems are liberals who look to big government taking care of the people thru increased taxes and blame capitalists for the evils of the world. Republicans are by nature capitalists who gravitate towards lesser government and the use of business experience to make government function.

The US went to war when a bilateral decision by Congress approved the action. There has been WMD found in Iraq; the libs, in their everchanging standards say it just wasn't enough. Oil? No. Bear in mind that Amnesty International rated Iraq as one of the top three violators of human rights prior to the war; just as they are now beating the drums about Darfur. Somalia was bungled because Clinton and Les Aspin didn't know squat about how to lead the military.

Clinton gave N Korea nuclear power; we can thank him for this mess. This administration has the courage to pursue the defense of all American interests abroad; including the protection of allies such as Israel and Kuwait. Don't forget Iraq was preparing to invade Kuwait in JAN of 2003 as a pre-emptive strike to prevent UN actions.

Pay attention to history or you will be doomed to repeat it. This administration is experiencing the same as did the Truman administration which is now viewed as one of the best and brightest in our history.

It might be the right time for you to go get informed. The world has been run by very powerful men for a long time. These men pay no attention to nations, borders, or the welfare of their fellow men. What is the source of their power that they can do this. One is banking and money in general. Controlling the world of money gives them extraordinary power. Two, with the discovery of oil, these same men and their friends went into that business and now charge the world whatever they can get away with to increase their financial hold. Three weapons. Surprise, but the international sale of weapons in conducted by this same group to the tune of trillions of dollars a year. They form banks, international cartels of business, insurance companies - another form of a con on the population, etc. and with this power they manipulate the world way beyond the scope of nations. If you wonder why this subject comes up so much, check out things like Skull and Bones, the Bohemian Grove, The Carlyle Group and find out who belongs. You might be surprised to know that George Bush Sr. belongs to them all! So does Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, and many more all of whom are directing the resources and policies of this country for the interests of these very powerful men. Read and get informed, and then you may find yourself talking about these same issues.

Define "get things done."

Because technically, I suppose mistake after mistake after mistake can be labeled "getting things done," but I would've preferred something with a little more substance from the ruling class.

Let's see... The Family and Medical Leave Act, which allowed employees to balance work and family obligations? Nope, that was Clinton.

Or how about AmeriCorps, a network of more than 3,000 non-profit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based organizations that handled issues such as the environment, education, public safety, affordable housing and unmet needs, and homeland security and disaster relief? A program that provided 18 to 24 year olds the opportunity to serve their communities, with the added bonus of a $4,000 stipend that could be used to pay student loans or fund future studies?

No wait, that was another Clinton program, and by the way, it was essentially shut down in February of this year thanks to George Bush, who cut funding down to 5 million (from 27 million). Apparently, that money was better spent paying for no-bid contractors who are under investigation for fraud.

Maybe it was raising the minimum wage, which helped lower income workers deal with the rising costs of inflation? Oh, that's right, that again was Clinton. And that was in 1996. And the minimum wage hasn't been raised since. And yet, Congress has given ITSELF raises totalling $32,000 in that same time span.

I could go on, if you like. I got a whole list of stuff that "do-nothing Democrats" accomplished.

Your a blind ignorant fool. The two wars we are in are ALL about the oil, we can thank Republicans for putting us and our great grand children into DEBT!

The voters DO NOT control the either political parties...it is the special interest groups with $$$ that do. BOTH parties just use us and lie about change! Throw all those @#$ out of office especially that BLUE BLOOD SOB Bush!

Yeah, sure the GOP is doing so well. We are in debt for trillions of dollars under the Bush Reign. Under Clintons Reign he left us in surplus of billions. Bush made sure he sailed through that windfall for Americans. Now Bushie has signed so we can go into further debt, by building a useless fence to ward off illegal Mexicans from crossing the border. How does Bushie think we are going to pay for all of this. Oh but wait, why in the world does he care? His reign of terror and error is about to end.

We will be paying for all of this for many years to come, our great, great, great, great grandchildren will be paying for this. But that is ok, Bush and his family and friends in future generations will live well.

The question to America will be how well will we be living. NOT WELL AT ALL.

sI am tired of the Republican citing moral authority and taking over countries. When you brutalize people they will fight back with brutality. I am a Democrat but I worry about the loss of life and the displacement of citizens because of the civil strife. This war is a replay of Somalia. I really feel for those soldiers who are trying to stay alive in the middle of the civil fighting.

It's funny that the liberals act like they have never used a drop of oil in their life. What a bunch of pompus a- holes. Everybody uses oil from the paint on your skateboards to your green hair dye. From the the black nail polish to the rubber on your bike tires. Everything from the the alarm clock that wakes you at 11 AM every morning to the paint on your protest signs. So unless you are naked and live in a cave people should really not object to the evil oil.
