I have not experienced this "TOUGH LIFE".... though people have asked me how I can be so happy after something goes wrong.

I think people who say life is tough just can't see past the moment NOR find the positive in the bad moment. Perhaps they feel that struggling in life financially or emotionally has no good outcome. I see all my struggles as a free education of what NOT to do again, learn from it and move on.

I believe when someone says "life is tough", they are making the wrong decisions within it and need to step back and see what exactly they are doing differently from others having a grand time at life. They need to look in the mirror... there lies their problem and their answer !

When people say that life is tough, they are referring to the obstacles and problems they have encountered up to now. Some people have very tough lives, starting from childhood, things like poverty, being treated badly by employers, being left or abused by spouses, personal or family illness, rape, abortion, depression, anxiety, etc can all make life very hard. People who say life is hard are expressing disappointment with the fact that they have lacked things that most other people seem to have, like love, a family home, a decent job, for example.
Other people expound this theory are those who are very successful, and see thier success as completely their own doing. (Instead of a combination of factors such as upbringing, luck, the help of others, as well as talent and hard work). These people have a tendency to beleive unquestioningly in the meritocratic system - that people get where they are because of their own efforts (a theory with very obvious flaws, the simplest of which I have already pointed out). So they feel no guilt or embarrasment in judging others harshly.
From my own experience, life is mostly tough due to the inevitable conflict between individuals, who all have varying beleifs and opinions, and are unable to cope well with the fact that other people do not always agree with them.

When someone has had a tough life it means that they have had to overcome a lot of obstacles to get to the position they are now. It can be either personally or professionally.

Nothing in life is handed to you on a silver platter so we all need to work hard to achieve our goals.

Life happens in a series of events, some good, and some bad. You must go with the flow, not all days will be easy, not all will be difficult. Some days are unfair, some are really good. Some days are more challenging than other. Look at the positive side of things and make the best of every day. God bless

Life is full of challenges and lessons. Once you start to get the lessons and stop repeating them it becomes less tough.
