Mate that answer above is pretty good but if you dont happen to have an air hose waiting on the other side pull your air filter out to dry give it a shake and leave it in the sun for now,{of course if the bike stopped in the creek crossing it's raining}make a judgement on how wet it is drain your carb through the drain screw provided.Take the plugs out kick it over until your lungs are hanging out on the tank.Clean the plugs {you need the rest}.Drain the carb again.Replace the plugs. Make a judgement on whether the filter is dry enough to replace.Cross your fingers and try to start the bike.PROMISE TO CHECK HOW DEEP THE CREEK IS NEXT TIME!!!Get home change all your oils and fluids.No expert but cant see how the procedure would be different for 2 or 4 stroke.

Did you go deep enough for water to enter the carburetor. If so, check your air cleaner box, put in a dry filter and get all water out. Next drain and blow out the carb with an air hose. Then remove the spark plug and crank the engine to expel any water inside the combustion chamber..(water will not compress and will break things inside). Look to see if any water is in the oil. Drain and change it if you need too. Put it all back together and see if it will start.. Good Luck..
