There is this guy at my school that I can easily tell he is a tag along kid. He is the kind of kid that does whatever his peers are doing no matter what it is. I have briefly talked to him once or twice in the past two years and I can't stand seeing such a beautiful nice guy be lost so much to the affect of drugs. I know he is quite aware that I am gay and I am sure he knows I like him but i have been told that he has absolutly no problem with it. Now i have an idea on how to proceed with this which is to get him to hang out with me or other "clean" people to help him forget about drugs and realize he doesn't need them. But the problem is I have absolutly no idea on what to do with him. I am the kind of loner kid that never really talks and there really isnt much to do around town, so I am utterly clueless as to what a straight guy would want to do that could possibly intrest him more than drugs.

Find out what he's interested in. Video games, skateboarding.... Try to get him active in something else. But he careful, if it's obvious around school that you are gay, well, I don't have to tell you that kids can be cruel and you don't want him having a hard time & using drugs to make him feel better. Get what I'm saying?

Your young and gay, be proud. Don't set yourself up for heartbreak by falling for a straight druggie. Just wait a few years go to a college in a major city and you'll meet tons of cool gay dude's going somewhere in life. Cities i recommend Washington DC. Huge gay population, Philly, Atlanta (I'd avoid NYC or San Fran)
But anyway if you insist of spending time with this dude. . . Find a common interest other than drugs, a filmaker or something, sport. Ask him in a friendly way so your feelings wont be hur if he turns you down. Hey if you like photograpy or some type of art, getting him to model for you is always an in.

As for the druggie part, you can't help any one unless they want to help their self first!! They have to want to stop doing drugs and/or alcohol first before any body can help them. Once THEY want to change, then you can help but not until. I know what I am talking about cause I went threw this with my boyfriend. I begged and pleaded with him to stop doing both. But he wouldn't change until after I left him and then and only then did he decide to do something about it. He knew the only way to get me back was to straighten his act up. Good luck, I hope he comes clean for his OWN good!!!

Take a chance. Talk to him and see how things go from there. You never know unless you tried. If doesn't work, at least you can put your mind at ease.
