There is nothing wrong with this my sister gave birth to her first child in July this year and only put on 6.6 pounds through the pregnancy ( she is very petite ) her daughter weighed 7pounds she wasn't on any diets just ate what she normally did but didn't put much weight on. You should think yourself lucky. I recently had my fifth baby and this time I put on 35 pounds even though I walk my children to school everyday and I ate a sensable diet I still put on alot of weight.

If your doctor is not worried, then you shouldnt worry. Everyone is different. Yes, you are eating for two now, but some people take that to mean that they can eat everything and anything in sight and that contributes to a lot of women gaining so much weight while pregnant. I stayed on a very healthy strict diet while I was pregnant, and I only gained 11lbs with my first pregnancy and 9 with my second. My doctor did ultrasounds every month and gave no sign of being conserenced about it. I even asked during my first pregnancy, and her exact words to me were "As long as I can tell that the baby is growing properly, I don't want you to worry about gaining a certain amount of weight"
Both my daughter and son were born perfectly healthy, and I was back into my prepregnancy clothes a week later.

There is no problem. I didn't gain ANY weight when I was pregnant until my third trimester. You don't have to gain a lot of weight to prove that you are pregnant. Not showing at 5 months is not a "problem" either, some women don't show until their 6th or 7th month. Your doctor has probably told you this but you weren't listening obviously "No two pregnancies are alike". So what someone else gained/looked like during their pregnancy is not necessarily what you will gain and look like

Sweetheart, I lost weight the entire time I was pregnant. For some strange reason, I weigh more now than I did at any other time of my pregnancy! As long as the baby is gaining weight, you'll be fine. The doctors know what to look for. Plus, you'll gain your most weight in that last trimester. So consider yourself lucky, girl. Happy birthing!

ask when you are at the doctor. he or she will let you know if there are any thing extra you could be doing. by now you should have been able to hear the heartbeat by now and would have been told at your last appt. that something was wrong. your likely to be one of those girls who automatically shrink down to your pre-pregnancy weight when your baby pops out. i hate you. just kidding. sort of. sorry...anyways, i am sure you are really concerned so you really need to bring it up next week at your appointment and be sure to talk it through thoroughly and dont let your doctor rush through the visit until you understand or feel comfortable about your situation.

i gained most of my weight at the end of my pregnancy. but 4 pounds does seem low. talk to your dr. about your concerns.
are you taking prenatals
eating 5-6 small healthy meals
taking additional calcium
are you having or had a lot of morning sickness? A lot of people lose weight because of that
