as a prior swimmer on a team for many years as I was younger, I remember that my skin did turn whitish grey due to the length of time spent in the pool in one swim session. The Coaches are contantly added Chlorine and other chemicals to treat the water and keep it clean of all germs. That is also one reason why many kids came home with light or a soft green tinted hair color. I don't believe that this is preventable as my skin is very fair in complexion but id didnt harm me. I did put lots of lotion on my body after climbing out of the water to rehydrate my skin.

Wash your son every time he comes out of the pool with soap and a clean towel every time do not use sunscreen it does not work unless you are at an outdoor swimming pool. Make sure that he covers up really good especially during the winter months

I'm afraid I dont understand the question... There is now way for his skin to change color unless he get a tan from the sun. Simply Chlorine and Salt will not affect him in any way,(maybe a little pruned after a long swim)... If you are afraid of skin change load up on sunblock... It is clearly obvious that the sun will tan you and the water will prune you...

Never heard of that. Chlorine can affect lighter hair coloring though. Easy remedy, just wash after each swimming session.
