The next number to the series 53 48 50 50 47 is 52. please explain?

This is a ridiculous sequence there are more answers than 52

For instance symmetery around 50



51 48 50 50 47(is one less than 48 ) thus now should come 50

See that the first number of the series is 53 and ends with 52 for every 5 series the number will increase by 1

both of which have been combined.
