I know why a woman would leave a man, usually due to feeling unfullfilled and lonely, but why would a man divorce his wife?
I have always wondered this, I can't help but think, wow, after sharing so much of personal history and secret personal things that could be almost embarrising if someone knew, why leave?

Adultery would be one of the few reasons. If he is truly unhappy and constantly fighting with his wife, and tried to work things out... that's another possible divorce situation. If their are children involved... it makes the situation and decision even harder.

Before I married my wife I told her, "Hon, I don't think that you would ever cheat on me -- I would not marry you if I thought so -- but if you ever did, the marriage would be over. There would be no second chance."

6 years later, I divorced her because she called me up one night at work and told me that she had a boyfriend.

Some of you may ask, "why no second chance?" Well, because a relationship is built on honesty and trust -- when neither is present, there is no realationship. Also, a wedding vow is a covenant, the most important one that anybody can make. I won't go into the details, but she broke it callously and with a lot of cruelty involved.

I know that nowadays marriage isn't as serious to a lot of people as it used to be. I think differently. I tried my hardest to make the marriage work even when I saw signs of it being in trouble and the decision to divorce was not made lightly.

On a brighter note, I am currently dating a person in whom I have a lot more in common with than my ex. There is honesty and trust in this relationship (not to mention romance) -- more so than was ever present in my extant marriage (or hers either, she has told me). We have being seeing each other for almost a year and it seems promising...

ummmm, for the same reasons a woman would leave. As far as relationships go, men and women aren't that different. Don't just assume that all men are these male chauvinist pigs who just want sex and booze, we're not a whole lot different than you. I don't know why you'd ask this except if you had recently gone through a divorce which your ex husband initiated so I'll ask you, are you sure you gave him everything he needed? I bet you didn't.

You know we can feel unfullfilled and lonely too. But in most cases a woman (if she hasn't cheated) usually nags a man to death, and us fellas get caught cheating. New coochie excites us greatly when our woman is being a *****. That is straight up. Can't stay unless its cheaper to keep her.

As you said woman would leave a man usually due to feeling unfullfilled and lonely. man would leave because he is not able to fullfill and give company to his wife.

when he is deserted by his woman, he goes to another woman with a renewed hope that he may fulfill her wish. Like a spider he keeps on trying.

poor man, please try to understand them.

The only reason I would ever divorce my wife if she was unfaithful, ( which I doubt she ever could be)

That is the only reason the bible gives for divorce.

of course there is allowance to leave if they are being physically abusive, but not with the freedom to remarry.

I am female, but don't think about the embarrassing things, think about the better life... if you had a real reason for divorce and that only you will know.

I divorced my wife because she cheated on me. That is probably the only reason that would cause me to do the divorce thing.
