In my observation all most all economic societies tend to be a blend of socialism, capitalism and dictatorship. Its just which type of economic system tend to be the most dominant is just what that society (or country) call its self. I was watching the north koreans call themselves an socialist country. I found that very funny because it appears to me to be mostly dominate dictatorship. A pure socialist country would be no more than a welfare state. There are no incentives for people to work. Just like the welfare system in the U.S. is call socialist programs. Thats the reason why I think karl Marks theroy of a pure socialist economy was a stupid idea. He was responcible for Russia's problems. North korea, and other countries. How could people be so stupid to believe that a socialist economy could exist..Im glad I couldnt visit north korea because, I couldn't stop laughting at all those 0ppressed stupid people. But they do it to themselves. Miss guided loyalty. Maybe the race for nuclea

It relies too heavily on people doing the right thing (which we know is rarely the case)

Marx is a highly influential thinker, and I think that you are dismissing him too quickly. He evaluated history under a simple model and came up with an interesting theory on the development of societies: All economic models simplify the real word. Just look at the AE model of a closed economy in any first year text book.

The problem with Mark is that he seemed to completely ignore his own theories, observations and logic on Humans when he purposed the final stage of history - communism, and never tried to explain why would humans stop exploiting each other in his perfect world.

Marx's theory should not be called stupid, after all it was just a theory
or better to say philosophical view on human nature from different point of view and when one reads it really carefully one will see the pearls of truth there, which cannot be easily dismissed. Also Marx should not be the only one to blame for failure of socialist system. Applied socialism was idea of Lenin and his followers. He was the first to introduce socialism in Russia...If you blame Marx for all bad socialistic system brought that you should blame Nietzsche and Schopenhauer for Nazi camps and holocaust, not just Hitler

Karl Marx is and was widely regarded as a genius.

I wouldn't be so quick to write him off as stupid.

How many world-changing theories have you come up with, of late?

I know this is a crazy idea, but maybe you should read some of his writings.

I personally think trying to systematize the human race in any way is like nailing jello to a tree.
