And aren't the muslims in the same situation? Where do they see the christian moderates who condemn the attacks on muslims? The christians are much more powerful than they are so more sabre rattling is justified yes?

"And if you punish, you shall inflict an equivalent punishment. But if you resort to patience (instead of revenge), it would be better for the patient ones."
"...anyone who kills any person who had not committed murder or horrendous crimes, it shall be as if he killed all the people. And anyone who spares a life, it shall be as if he spared the lives of all the people..." (5:32)
"Exempt those who join a people with whom you have concluded a peace treaty, and those who come to you with hearts unwilling to fight you, nor to fight their relatives. Had God willed, he could have placed them in power over you and they would have made war on you. Therefore, if they leave you alone, refrain from fighting you, and offer you peace, then God gives you no way to go against them." (4:90)
"Fight in the cause of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress limits. Lo! Allah loves not aggressors. ...And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. (2:190)

Unfortunately, conservative Christians are on the opposite side of the same coin as Muslim fanatics. They believe their religion is correct, and will do ANYTHING to prove it, including murder. Think about it. How many people have murdered doctors in the name of anti-abortion, which in NOT in the Bible.

You have the temerity to ask for reasonable, thoughtful arguments after you label Christians as nut jobs?
I can't speak for Christians as I do not belong to that faith.
The answer to your question is that it's not just "a few nut jobs" among Muslims. Conservative estimates put it at 10-15%. That's just the religious fanatics. Keep in mind that Saddam, is not a religious fanatic, neither was Arafat. There are many others who support terror without being religious. There are undoubtedly many more who sympathize with the terrorists. Tis adds up to at least a large minority. Most of the rest are silent. You can count on 1 hand Moslem leaders who have sincerely condemned terrorists.

The war in Lebanon proved that its not religion its politics. In Lebanon you have the majority of Christians are supporters of Hezbollah and the biggest christian party lead by General Michel Aw-an has united with Hezbollah against the Muslim lead Lebanese government by Seniora and Hare-re. Seniora and hare-re don't want the Lebanese president Emil la-hod who is Catholic and an open supporter of Hezbollah. America has refused to meet the Lebanese president who is christian Catholic and General Michael Aw-an and he is a christian Protestant who both support Hezbollah. You see its all about politics but how else can they produce a war other then using religion or land. The truth is its all about politics.
were do you think Israel gets its oil Iran and Iraq surprised, do you think they get it from America lol funny aint it

See I feel like most liberals despise Christians and promote the tolerance of Islam, as in the question I posted just a few minutes ago. The fact is, when Jerry Falwel and Pat Robertson say wild and irrational things alot of Christians cry out against it. I have yet to hear a good majority of Muslims outcry the acts of terrorism going on in the world today. But I do think alot of people generalize both religions. Bin Laden thinks America is attacking them because they are Muslim and we are a 'Christian' nation, as he purports. Anyway, I hope you don't get bashed like I did for asking a similar question, but hell, theres a lot more Muslims wanting to kill us then there are Christians, so I'm sure that helps promote the idea that all muslims are terrorists

Can't speak for "all" Christians - not being of any particular faith myself, just doin' the right thing daily by treating those as I myself would like to be treated! My comment would be - most Christians would have little knowledge of the faith in relation to the practice.
The Muslim religion does itself a major disfavour in it's instruction NOT to mingle with those of a dissimilar faith.
I've answered the same question before and said "when was the last time you had an invitation to check out the mosque? attend a gathering to get to know us?" It is very easy to be afeared of what you don't know! The Muslim religion isn't allaying those fears!

Why do you condemn all conservative christians because of a few nutjob bigots?
People, (Christian or non-Christian, conservative or liberal), tend to overgeneralize, especially about stuff they don't know much about. They hear many people acting like they are performing God's work to kill innocent people just going to work. And we hear far too often other Islamic leaders denouncing terrorism, even those in America!
And seeing the celebration in the streets in Islamic countries while we were greiving & in shock didn't help matters much, either.
But most people, Christian or otherwise, do not despise all Muslims.

many Radcons detest other religions. They push and probed and preach for a Christianity monopoly. They call Allah a “terrorist” and loathe all religions and sometimes slander their own people. World history illustrates that murderers have killed in the name of Christianity. Millions of Indians were enslaved and murdered by Spaniards hoping to spread god’s truth. The carnage philosophy of Manifest Destiny was promoted by Christian principles.

Maybe this kind of verse does not endear them to the Christians
SURA 98.6 The unbelievers among the People of the Book, Christian and Jews, and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of creatures.
This is just one of many. If we are taking it out of context so are many Muslims not just the ones who are actively conducting terrorist acts but many others who support them.

THE ANSWER: everyone knows Christians... nobody knows Muslims... they can't see beyond that fact to the truth...
Alex B. Ph.D.: uh... which Christians do that... and how many muslims do you know that don't cry out about it...
my point: I don't know any Christians that cry out about Robinson ... or Muslims that condone the terrorist attacks... but that doesn't mean either party likes it...
how many people ACTUALLY know ANY muslims... say that muslims support terror... 0... ZERO

I think that your statement is incorrect. However when the nut jobs are not condemned by muslims and instead they are cheered or silently supported by Muslims it get pretty easy to put all the nuts in the same basket.
