Yeeeeeess... and, why when I buy a dozen hot-dogs can I only buy a bag of 10 hotdog buns?... and, why do I have to pay for toilet paper? Its not like I "want" TP, I need it, I dont even "want" to poop for that matter. Maybe I will quit.

The drive up machines are the same ones used for walk up ATM's. It wouldn't be cost-effective to manufacture a separate model for drive up without braille, and plus it would take away the opportunity to ponder things like this.

Because, believe it or not, there is at least one blind driver out there. No joke! The car has sensors and one of those gps systems that talks to you, so that he can drive. Probably the braille is wishful thinking that more blind, wealthy people are going to invest in the research and buy a sensor car.
Or it could just be regulation that you put it on every ATM.

Braille was added to conform to laws protecting the disabled.
Drive up ATMs actually use the same parts as walk up ATMs, therefore you will find braille on the drive up models.

It's cheaper to use the same machines that are used in walk-up only locations. Otherwise the manufacturer would have to tool to make two sets of keyboards - one with braille, one without.
But it's interesting to see the reactions of people who don't (or can't) think it through.

We are trying to mainstream into society people with disabilities as best as we can.
Besides, they probably drive a whole lot better than those folks on the cell phones

Newcamper is right..........besides, aren't blind persons entitled to have friends that drive them to ATM's to assist? Just rhetorical question..................LOL
