Okay .. I totally don't understand the "guinea" thing, but I find that people kinda "expect" me to be impatient, short-tempered and to drive cars too fast especially when I get mad, to resent authority in all forms, "be a good cook" and dress as handsomely as full-blood Italians do, all the time!

The part that really sucks about this is that all of this is True! - except that I'm a lousy cook, and I've been in America so lnog that I've learned to dress as sloppily as Americans now .. either jeans or sweat-pants and t-shirts all the time .. and it's my American wife that has the expectations!!

I hear the song "Run to The Hills" by Meatloaf, but there's nowhere to run...

I am a naturalized Anglo-American.

The secret is - if you become a TRUE American, there really isn't a big problem - if you remain an immigrant, you have an issue.

So if you are Italian, Irish, Mexican, or any other nationality & become a Naturalized Aermican, without giving up your prior allegiance FU. You can retain your history. But when anyone asks your ARE an American. Past = previous country, Current+Future=American.

Usually none....but someone did say the word 'guinea' in front of me a little while ago and I got really upset. Most people think it's cool that I'm Italian.

there are certianly some stereotypes....too much cologne, pronouncing the imaginary G in the word sandwich, pasta fazoo, construction, barbers, etc.

Lets not be in denial. Overall they are minorly judged compared to other cultural groups I think, and its more in good fun with italins, not genuine resentment.

I think most people love italians, I am half italian myself

CIAO!
