We have lots of famous scientists and thinkers. One example is Steven Hawkins, genius. However I think we as a society has too many things to do that we can not just sit and think. We have geniuses in our society today they are just focused on science and not philosophy.

Haven't you heard about our outstanding school credentials? Our 4th graders are equal to Europeans, 8th grade a little below, but get to 12th grade- we are complete MORONS. So if you're looking for scientists, try India, China and Japan, they are ranking #1 in graduating high school students with more than beer on their minds. Oh by the way, NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND IS FUELING THIS EPIDEMIC.
