I have some experience with this, actually. It makes your heart hurt to know that you cannot be near them. "Oceans apart, day after day, and I slowly go insane. I hear your voice on the line, but it doesn't stop the pain". I would write a poem to profess my love for them, because I speak better in verse and rhyme than I do with the spoken word.
