shaving legs? isnt it weird, i felt the same way when i was younger. i was too shy to ask, it felt like a really embarassing question to ask for some reason. so i just did it and told my sister. mum noticed after awhile and went on about it that i was too young. it was worth putting up with her lectures though cos theres nothing worse than a low "hairy" self asteem. so just do it, it doesnt harm anyone

I understand where you are coming from! My mom and I had a great relationship, but she was uncomfortable talking about "private" things, so that made me uncomfortable! All of my friends were shaving before I finally got up the nerve to ask her. She said what a lot of people have posted here "you'll never be able to stop, are you sure you are ready to start now?" I said yes, and she handed me a razor and some shaving cream. It wasn't nearly the drama I was afraid of! Just take a deep breath and go ask her!!

just do it, when i started shaving my legs i didnt ask permission. I got really itchy though the first couple of times. I did get in trouble with my dad though, he got mad at me, i dont know why. I think he just didnt want me to grow up yet i dont know. Me myself im going to let my daughter shave her legs as soon as she feels she wants to, Im a girl and i liked wearing shorts so i will be understanding.
But back to your situation, if you are really that shy, why dont you write her a little note, then your mom will come to you and ask you, i think that may be less embarassing than you asking her, although you shouldnt be shy, shes your mom and she brought you into this world. In her eyes, there will be nothing for you to be shy about, she will see it as a normal thing and most likely be willing to help you

Do the other people your age shave? If they do, sit down with your mom and tell her the situation. I'm sure she will understand because she has been there done that.

tell her exactly what the case is. there is no need to be shy. its human nature to have hair. Just tell her the problem. If u are really really shy, then u can check online for some possible tips, but u should do it under supervision of yur mother the first time u do it. u only need to ask her once, then u can do it all by yourself.

Just tell her you want to talk. She'll love it. Mom's want their kids to talk to them about everything but especially personal things like this. Thats what moms are for. but if you are young don't be suprised if she says no. She might not anyway but it's okay to ask and tell your mom you feelings and concerns. Speak up, don't wait. You will need this close relationship with your mom as you continue to adulthood.

I know this is a tough one. I lived with my dad when I wanted to start and he was very strict. Just tell her that it makes you feel uncomfortable in school cause everyone else has really smooth legs and you don't. One word of caution. Once you start you can't stop because the hair feels awful once it starts coming back in!
