Yes. Those who commit terrorism against Western nations just have to read or view stories about long lines at airports and general fears about intra- and international travel to know they have achieved the goal of striking fear into the average resident of these countries and, with apparently easy-to-access destructive technology, caused the most powerful nations to tremble at least a little at peoples they previously considered quite backwards.

I'm not entirely certain that terrorism has anything to do with terror...it's more of way of instilling fear into people and playing with the world economy.
