I had an affair with a married man. please don't judge I know what I did was wrong. But if you were the wife would you want to know. Even if it was a one time thing. If so why or why not?

If I was the wife i would definately want to know, for a few reasons:
-health, desease tests
-once a cheater always a cheater
-no trust in a relationship....no relationship
It's not you the public should be judging, it's the "married" man who made the commitment to his wife. Don't be hard on yourself or let others do so either. Don't use the threat to tell his wife as a way to keep in the relationship, my advise, don't stay in a relationship with him, most likely you will be in the same position his wife is in in the future. No... Don't ruin others lives just because you feel guilty... Besides, if he cheated with you then he will cheat with others... The wife will find out eventually. Besides she may just not believe you... Additionally, you could be sued.. In some states there is still a law on the books that allows the wife to sue the mistress... Better to keep it quiet... move on and remember how you feel now in case the same situation ever happens again.

No I would not want to know, although I would find out anyway because I am a detective. But if the wife has to be told, you should not be the one to do it. Let her husband have that job.

Yes, I would want to know because once you close that door to communication it takes alot to open that door back up. Personally, I wouldn't be mad at all I have been through so much and l feel that life is to short. I would just pray for my husband if he did such a thing (I'm not married yet I'm only 18!!!)

If I was his wife, I would like to know. I would like to know if my husband was out there having sexual relationship with another woman and then come home to me. Even if it was a one time thing for you, it may not be a one time thing for him.

O.K. well this is real easy to solve o.k.
One you know now your HUGE mistake...that's half the problem solved.
Two...Keep your mouth shut closed for the rest of your life.
AND NEVER EVER LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!...O.K.
Ask God to forgive you.
If just one child is involved on your side or the other...that's why? you keep your mouth closed...And legs from now on too.
You will have to live with it...that is Gods way of punishing you!
I say its quite fair.....and I am no angel...I too have had to live with

I think I would like to know but would rather hear it from my husband rather the other woman. Still if the woman felt drawn to tell me, I think I'd let her. Why? I guess because I would like to know that there were issues in my marriage. With the knowledge of the truth one could either choose to end it or choose to work on it. Think I would work on it...but that's just me.

yea, I would want you to tell me. If a man is capable of doing it , he probably will not tell his wife the truth. Plus if you dont tell her, you won't be able to apologize. you won't be forgivin but you should by ashamed of being a homewrecker, atleast it should make you feel like a better person for apologizing

i think it all depends on why your telling the wife, i believe most woman don't want to be told that the man they love is loving some one else, she should find out on her own, if you tell her it might look like you want to cause problems in their marriage, like you want the husband, good luck either way :)

u wouldnt want to be cheated on. Just think how often he does this to her. I have done a similar thing. Yes his wife deserves to know. AT first she may think ur lying.
