I've been learning rage against the machine and audioslave on my acoustic guitar for a while, and I want to get an electric guitar. What should I get? I don't want some crappy K-Mart guitar or anything, but i don't want to spend monster loads of money on something I don't need either. I would like reverb and a wahwah pedal.

If you can spend $300-$400, you should go with a Mexican model Fender. Both the Telecaster and the Stratocaster are powerful, versatile and great sounding guitars. And as your tastes expand, these guitars will adapt just fine. Keep an eye out for clean used models.

go to a used guitar shop and get a not to high priced not to cheep used Epiphone nothing fancy just make sure it works, as you get better and more familiar with picking out higher quality equipment, then you can start a search for a somthing that fits you better. Epiphones are good though!
