The lineup is full of holes and it's starting to show. Tigers played above thier heads all year. They played with heart and that got them as far as it has. You can't run outfielders like Thames and Monroe out on a WS team and expect to win. Not with a light hitting infield around them and without some awesome pitching. Rogers had one of his best career years. Bonderman came up and found a little extra this year. Rookies came out of nowhere and made major contributions. Washed up never has beens have come through when really needed. Sooner or later that runs out and the team goes flat. Just like it did toward the end of the reguler season.
The consolation is the Tigers have a good nucleus. Some wise off season moves to shore up the outfield, some pitching and the Tigers can be back next year. At least as long as Pudge can stay healthy and Ordenez comes back strong again next year. Bonderman will probably not equal 06 but Verlander might make 06 seem weak. Several young pitchers can and probably will step up. Sides who would have picked the Tigers to even make the post season this year much less the series. The Tigers did good, very very good this year.

The youth of the tigers are showing. Zumaya is too wild, even though he throws smoke. The Cardinals are just the hot team. They played the toughest teams in the NL. They are at a disadvantage in a NL park because of the style of play.
They are making the errors now and teams are making them pay. When the Yankees and A's made errors, the Tigers came back. Good pitching always stops good hitting. Now, they are endanger of never returning to Detroit for a game six. Bad fielding plays, silly fielding plays. I think that week off made them rusty...

What are you smoking!? The Tigers are the most overrated team in Baseball. They lost like 20 straight games going into the playoffs, that means they choke under pressure.
