what about the ways you think about eukaryotic cells?

Not really. The mitochondria is rather invested in the cell and vice verse. So I guess you could call it an uber-symbiotic system.

To me endosymbiosis is one of the most fascinating things. Just think about it. It is like you open your house to homeless person and as soon as they come in you lock the door and tell them: "Oops! Sorry! But you can't leave anymore. I need some one to cook for me!" That is what the eukaryotic cells have done with mitochondria and chloroplast! Isn't that just genius?
