Going to be out of my house this winter for long periods, wondering if there are devices that would call me or text or something if the furnace quits and the temp drops below a certain level.. any ideas?

The Ademco 4500 Interactive Thermostat allows the user to check the present temperature by phoning in from a remote location. The web link is below.

I was unable to find a thermostat that notifies you via e-mail or cell phone of inputed temperature changes.

I hope this helps and happy travels.

Yes. Go to a Lowes or a Home Depot or try a heating and air conditioning company. There are monitors available for more things then you might be able to imagine

yes, my neighbor uses one in his house when he goes to Florida. It turns on a light so that the other neighbors know that there's a problem and come in the house to check the furnace.
