i'm 35 weeks pregnant, and throughout my pregnance it's gotten worse. i don't eat a lot in the first place, but now just about every time i eat, i feel like i want to puke, and my stomach just hurts. i don't eat large meals. like for instance, i take 2 bites of a sandwhich or anything, i feel like i'm going to be sick. i've thrown up in the back of my throat a couple of times, it never completely came up and i've had diarrhea for about the past month, on and off, more on tho... i've mentioned to my doc, i can't eat that much and she just tells me to eat smaller meals throughout the day. anybody have any suggestions or is this something i should go into depth with about at my next ob appt. (this is pregnancy #2 but so it's been completely different, almost like the first time...) thanks

also, most of the time just the thought, smell, and sight of food will make me want to be sick...

every time i go to the doc, i've been gaining weight. and something i forgot to mention, was that if i don't feel completely nauseated after eating, then i just feel like i want to pass out... i get dizzy spells, and mostly i just feel weak all the time and i have aboslutely no energy (i know this is a side effect, but it's worse than it should be) i have a 3 year at home that i can't spend enough time with, b/c all i do is lay on the couch from being completely weak or sick.

OMG, same thing with my pregnancy, and my first 2. I have hardly put on any weight (with all 3) But have always had healthy 6 lb babies (normal size) I weigh 100 norm and at 36 weeks when I deliverd my son I weighed 106. My ob said it was ok, what ever you are keeping down , the baby is getting the nutriton before you, so you may be not getting enough but baby is. Make sure to take your vitamins, your teeth & bones will pay a price if you dont

it sounds like something you might want to take up with your ob at your next appointment. I know early in pregnancy this would be normal, but not towards the end. I have had 2 kids and didn't have anything like this nor have I heard anything on it. If you are eating small meals like your doc says and still getting this problem, it may be serious. you need to have some kind of nutrition in your system - for you and the baby. have you tried saltines or dry toast? those usually help me when anything else makes me sick

the baby is taking up alot more room now so thats why you should eat smaller meals.i had mornin, noon and night sickness with my second child that went away in the 5 mon.it then came back in the last few weeks of my pregnancy.my doc didnt seem to concerned because your appetite slows down then anyways.as long as youre eating something you should be alright.oh and my first pregnancy i could eat whatever my stomach desired. i gained 70 lbs.my 2 preg i only gained 20 lbs.no two pregnancies are alike cause no two babys are alike

As far as not being able to eat, your doctor is right. smaller meals. Eat whatever makes you the least sick and eat it frequently but in small portions. You are probobly sick from not eating enough. I would be concerned about the diarrhea. Be sure to have the doctor check that out good. I've read that third trimester sometimes experience diarrhea but the one time that it happened to me it caused problems during the 38 week delivery.

I had the same problem early in my pregnancy. Absolutely nothing appealed to me. Mid-pregnancy I was alright, but in the 3rd trimester I ended up losing about 25 lbs for lack of being able to eat. I also had terrible heartburn from even a sip of water. The doctors never seemed to be concerned, and my daughter was born healthy at 7 lbs.

You really need to tell your OB how strongly you feel that something is wrong. Are you gaining enough weight? Go with your mother's intuition, and if you don't gat any help from this doctor, find another. There are medications that you can take while pregnant for nausea.

Yes I believe its normal but i might be wrong

My mother was the same way with me and my brother... the side affect was that we were both small babies the doctor thought she was puking on purpose but it wasnt the case.. she couldnt keep anything down ever so she had to take alot of vitamins to make sure the babies were getting what they needed

i believe u should go in depth if it worries you... your doctor might just blow it off but you should really stress that your worried for the babys health

Okay, this will only work if you can stand to drink milk. Start drinking a cup of whole milk every three hours. If you can only stand a couple swallows than drink it every hour. This will even out your blood sugar, making other food more appealing. Also, make a big fuss at your doctor's office, make them test you to see if you have gestational diabeties.

You need to talk to your doctor. They can give you something to help you. There is nothing that we can tell you. If you aren't gaining weight, the doctor should have said something.
