If you list the data from least to greatest (or greatest to least) the median is the middle number. if there is an even number of terms, then the median is the average of the two in the middle.

the mode is the number that appears the most. Sets of data can have no mode (all appear the same number of times) one mode, two modes, etc.

Let me give you an example.
Take 23,44,55,67,87,87,99,43,87,23,44,87,65.
Inthe above data, 99 is the median.because, median is the middle term of a given data.
How to find a median?
If the data consists of even number, median is the mean of (n/2)th
term and (n/2+1)th term.
If the data consists of odd number, median is the (n/2+1)th term.
n is the number of terms in the data.

In the given example, 87 is the mode.because, mode is the most reoccring number in the data.

A median is a number in a data set when the set has an odd number of values, or for an even number of values when the (N/2) datum equals the ((n/2)+1)th datum.
The mode is defined as the datum which occurs the most.
If more than one value are repeated the same number of times, the set is referred to as n-modal.

the median is the middle number so half the data points are greater and half are less. Mean is average and mode is the most commonly occuring data point.
