Yeah, I've been hitch-hiking, back-packing and sleeping on the beaches across southern Europe for 10 years now, and I've hitched rides with gypsies many times - returning to Spain mostly, from other parts of Europe.

Don't get lost in "romanticism" about them .. they're a rough bunch of people, but that is their chosen way of life, and if you can respect it - they'll turn out to be good friends. Unreliable, but very, very memorable.

That's about the truth of it. God bless.

Actuallly, I do... and ??????? I always wanted to be a gypsy when I was growing up.... they seemed to have such free spirits and no obligations... kinda like Latter Day Hippies. I wanted the earings, and bright colored skirts, scarves, and jewelry..... but most of all I wanted to live in a little wagon and be a fortune teller...It still seems like fun.... How do you become a gypsy?

I do , because I grew up in Europe and there were a lot of Gypsies ( Romani people ) in my town.
