A = 4D = 11D - 70
A - 7 = 11(D-7)

7 D = 70
D = 10
A = 40

Let the age of the daughter be x. The star's age now is 4x
The daughter's age 7 years ago would be x-7 and the star's age would be 11(x-7): eleven times the daughter's age seven years ago. Solve for x.

x-7=11(x-7)
x-7=11x-77
10x=77
x=10
The daughter's age now is 10, which makes the star's age 40. Seven years ago the daughter would be 3 and the star 33.

The star is 40. When his daughter was 3 that made him 33 which makes him 11 times older.
Now seven years later the star is 40 and his daughter is 10 so that makes him 4 times older.

The little was 3, seven years ago (equaling 33 as the actor's age; 3x11 ). Now the girl is ten and the actor is 40 (33+7=40 and 40/4= 10).

Let,the present of the child be x years,Therefore the present age of the star is 4x years.lSeven years ago ,the daughters age was x-7 years and the star's age was 4x-7 years.Therefore,according to the problem, 11(x-7)=4x-7 => 11x-77 =4x-7 =>11x-4x=-7+77 => 7x=70 =>x=70/7=10 years.Therefore,the daughter's present age is 10 years and the movie star's present age is 4X10 or 40 years.

suppose x = age of movie star and y = age of his daughter

seven years ago ( x-7) he was 11y .....so x-7 = 11y (1st equation)

now, x is 4(y+7)..................................so x = 4(y+7) (2nd equation)
(note it is y+7 since the daughter became 7 years older)
substitute the x from the 2nd equation into the 1st so that only the y variable is left:

so x= 4(y+7) into x-7 = 11y

4(y+7) - 7 = 11y

simplify and solve for y:

4y +28 -7 = 11y
21= 7y
21/7 = 7y/7
3 = y
so now we now that his daughter was 3 (7 years ago):

so sub y= 3 into the second equation to solve for x:

x = 4 (y+7)
= 4(3+7)
= 4 (10)
=40
therefore, the movie star is 40 years old.

7 years ago :
Star : 33 (11x)
Child : 3 (1x)

Now :
Star : 33 + 7 = 40 (4x)
Child : 3 + 7 = 10 (1x)
