My opinion is that they are all right. I am secretly glad we must wear the uniform, as well, or else I might feel lonely or left out becuase there are so few in my class and all of them have extensive wardrobes. I don't mind them too badly.

Uniforms are used in 99% of British schools. There are many merits to their use.

They create an egalitarian appearance- divisions of rich and poor are less apparent. They represent good discipline and order by underlining a students allegience to the school and avoid problems of gangs or cliques with their own uniform.

On the European continent many adults go to work in offices looking like a dog's dinner wearing polo shirts and tracksuits. This is probably derived from them not wearing uniforms at school.

I went to Catholic school. And we had to wear them. I hated them every body looked the same. And we had to wear the ugliest shoes. White and black oxfords. And we had a special All white jump suit type thing for P.E. Until we got to high school. I think that uniforms are OK, if you could choose from a few different colors. And did not all look the same. And didn't have to wear the ugly shoes.

my school doesnt have specific uniforms :) i think that uniforms suck the individuality out of a person. people express themselves by what they wear if ur wearing a school uniform then ur not expressing individuality and ur one of "them" (the evil people who try to extinguish indiviuality) unless u dont have a choice and ur forced to, but i think that thats inhumane. (of course it can take me a bit to decide what to wear in the morning but thats fine by me.)
