Because they know that the masses are blissfully ignorant to the truth on these types of issues, so they continue to spread such falsehoods realizing that not many will question it in the media, but instead help further their deception.

We already do pay for it, as you should know by the piece I posted to another similar question.
Bush does pay for some stem cell research, though they will not fund most of it. Part's of it are illegal!
I am the liberal who gave you the material for your liberal bashing!
Things You Have to believe to be a Republican
>>Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and
Hillary.
>> Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.
>> Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.
>> The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.
>> A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.
>> The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.
>> If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.
> > A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.
>> Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing health care to all Americans is socialism. HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at heart.
> > Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.
>> A president lying about an extra-marital affair is an impeachable offense, but a president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.
>> Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.
>> The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.
>> Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.
>> What Bill Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80's is irrelevant.
>> If you don't send this to at least 10 other people, we're likely to be stuck with more Republicans in 08, and remember:
friends don't let friends vote Republican

10 billion dollars a month going to a war that was started based on a lie. We can't cough up a few bucks to fund such an important research. Guess this won't be best answer, because it is the truth, As a diabetic, I salute you for standing in the way of finding a cure, I want to live the rest of my life giving myself 4 shots a day. Thanks.

what really makes me scream is that the same cells that are in the fetus aborted(stem cells) are also in the umbilical cord(where they were first found) and nobody can seem to remember that unless its the plan to keep roe vs. wade an open policy

The thing is that, if it gets outlawed in individual states, such as Wisconsin for example, our University with its funds will not be able to pay for it. When there's no funding, we lose valuable research. And anything that might save future lives and find cure for disease, who would object paying for that?

Why do conservatives insist that they alone should decide what medical treatment my family receives?
Why do right-wingers believe that idiots like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Bill Frist and James Dobson are better qualified to make medical decisions for my family than our doctors?
Why do you feel it necessary to force your religious views on others?

When don't LIbErals lie?
Oh, there's always some teensy little kernel of truth they can spin to sell to the masses out there-- in this case, the truth that there are some incurable diseases that MIGHT be curable if they can kill more embryos.
They prey on the poorest and most marginalized of our society, by telling them they "care." They can't make good on their promises, which they never intended to keep, so they have to keep the lie machine spinning...

It's liberal politics. Conservatives have their lies also. You don't get your facts from anyone who lives and breathes conservative or liberal dogma. You ignore them and consult sources, including talk radio - last bastion of good info in the country.
