Our daughter is turning 18 soon, I'd love any party ideas, we are on a pretty tight budget.... Should we have it BYO or should we supply the alcohol? Help please!!!!!!!!

We live in AUSTRALIA, the legal age for drinking here is 18.....
I'm not stupid...
Beach sounds good, but we live 2 hours away from the closest beach

Having gone to several 18th's I believe the best combo is to rent a place out with a bar. People can pay for alcohol and maybe you could have a tab for the softdrinks. The bar also deals with underage people and the drunks so it is less stressful. I would try a bowling club or the local league/AFL club

I don't think you should have alcohol at a 18 year olds Birthday party. Why don't you try a BBQ, or Bring your own dish dinner.
Get some Cd's together and put them on the stereo. Have you asked her what she would like to do for her birthday? I know 18 is an important birthday for teens. But if you have alcohol and teens together it is not a good idea.

My parents pretended like they totally forgot about my sister's 18th b-day. We loaded up in the car for a "road trip" and ended up at a HUGE party at a friends lake house. She cried she was so happy......My parents didn't even have to do very much for the party...her friends put most of it together and got about 200 cd's together and took turns being the DJ. Everyone was assigned a food to bring...like 10 people brought main courses, 10 brought desserts, 10 brought appetizers and so on....we had lots of swimming and music and dancing....it was great and she had a wonderful time....The legal drinking limit is 21 here so I wouldn't be able to tell you any great ideas about that though.....sorry :)

I guess bc you didn't indicate where u r, we all assumed u were in the US. In this case,BYOB is still kinda "eh" for a 18 yr old, regardless what country ur in,but bc it's legal, it'd b easier on u to have BYOB party. Either way, good luck!

Loud music in the backyard should suffice the situation. Have guests bring their own alcohol and suplly some too.

if she has any friends you should let her loose for one right and let her do whatever she wants w/out you calling her. give her 50 or 100 bucks and tell her you'll see her tomorrow. she might even end up drinking less than if you supply it, teens are cheap

You live in the US? The legal drinking age is 21, are you trying to get yourself sued or just going for parents of the year? How trashy and irresponsible.
