You will be fine. My husband was in the army for 5 years. Lots of shots. There are only a couple they will not give you if you live with someone who may be pregnant. The do ask them before giving them the shots.

My brother in law, also in the army, had to get the shots as well and his wife was about 1 month pregnant at the time. Baby is perfect.

Having been in your place I say do it as much as you can now cause it will be a while. Love each other and try to spend as much time together as you can. :)

They should have given your hubby a pamphlet with his Anthrax shot. See if he has this and what advice they give.

I was already pregnant when my husband received his shot and there was not concern whatsoever about that particular one. The smallpox; however, they administered while he was downrange because of the associated risks.

All information I have seen on the Anthrax shot applies only to the interaction of the shot with the female. See the link below, as the following quote was found on that site:

"The vaccine is a cell-free filtrate, which means it uses dead bacteria as opposed to live bacteria. It is a sterile product made from a strain of the anthrax organism that does not cause disease"

The fact that the shot utilizes dead bacteria leads me to believe that it should not be harmful in your situation. I was probably a little worried at the time, but I have a sweet little girl now, and it's all good!

Best wishes, take good care of yourself whether or not you become pregnant before he goes!

Oh, my GOD! DON'T trust the people on this website to advise you about whether you and your possible baby might expose yourselves to ANTHRAX! Seriously. This is a nice place to get some opinions, but for a serious medical question you really, really have to talk to a doctor. And, no, I don't mean someone on this site who, in his or her "sources" box, types "I'm a doctor." I mean someone who can really prove he or she went to medical school, like with diplomas on the wall and everything. Don't take such a big risk based only on people's opinions, okay? Good luck; I'll be hoping (but I don't KNOW) it's okay to have sex.

the anthrax will NOT affect anything like that.. And small pox is dangerous until it heals and the scab is gone.

I think you should be fine. I had an Antrax shot and we worried about whether there would be repercussions when I got pregnant but everything was fine.
