God would change something, he would change the title and clarify what God meant (not the humans that tweaked the commandments)...God would change them from "The Ten Commandments" to "The Ten Commitments and Understandings About The Spiritual Life"
Here are the "Ten Commandments" I've copied and pasted from a website....then following will be God's new "Ten Commitments and Understandings About the Spiritual Life"
Ten Commandments
1. You shall have no other Gods before me.
2. You shall not make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
5. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s."
God's revised version, his 21st century clarification...
1. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will not honor any gods before me because you will have come to an understanding that I am the one and only god, the All In Everything, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. You will understand there is no other God than me, I am everything, no matter what you honor, you are honoring me. This will be based on your understanding that there is nothing but God.
2. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will see it there is no necessity to idolize me and my creations for you will understand that you walk among divinity each waking moment. The world around you is paradise and I am always present...when you understand this you will not feel the need to idolotrize me, for I am always here. This will be based on your understanding that everything is divinity incarnate.
3. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will never take my name in vain because you will understand that by taking my name in vain you take yourself in vain, cursing your creation and the events you have brought forth in your experience. You will understand that I do not dictate your life and the events you experience, I simply help you to bring about the experiences your creative soul most desires to expedite its evolution. Therefore taking my name in vain is taking your own creative spirit in vain, for I am within you. This will be based on your understanding that you and I are One.
4. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will take the time to tend to the nourishment of spirit and the divine being within. You will understand that just like your job, school, your children, your spouse, your spirit needs attention and must be recharged. You can begin by taking one day to honor the Holiness of that day, but as your spirit evolves you will begin honoring each day as the holy day. This will be based on your understanding that each moment is holy.
5. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will honor your parents and thank them for bringing you into this wonderful world of experience so your spirit could grow. The gratitude begins with your earth creators, your parents and surely the gratuity will begin to extend out to your family, friends and soon all of those whom you come into relationship with for they all are of the same parent, me. This will be based on your understanding that we are all One.
6. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will not kill because you will never have any reason or inclination to end the life of another. You will understand the vital role each person, plant and animal plays in this system of what is called Life. You will begin to see yourself in others and all around you. This will be based on your understanding of divine community.
7. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will never commit adultery because you will never be inclined to do so because the pleasures of the flesh are meaningless to you. This will be based on your understanding that the physical world and its pleasures are temporal and impermanent.
8. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will not steal because you will understand that everything you need is already in your life. You will understand that all that is needed to sustain you is present and you will not desire excess material wealth. This will be based on your understanding that there is enough in the world to go around.
9. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will not bear false witness against your neighbor because you will speak nothing but the truth. You will understand that deception, lies and slander negatively effect yourself and those around you. This will be based on your understanding that thoughts and words are creative energies.
10. When you are on the path of spirit and have come to a proper understanding about me you will never covet your neighbors possesions nor the things that he cares about because there is nothing he has that you do not. You will understand that much like commitment and understanding 8, that you have all you need to sustain your life in a fulfilling manner. This will be based on your understanding that the spirit is Self-Sustaining.
These are the provisions God would make to the commandments. God would clarify that these are the understandings about life and about God that will result in one acting in accordance with these 10 commitments. They are more like "Ten signs you are living the life of spirit are you do not murder, you do not steal, you hold each moment holy, you honor the divinity in all things....etc"
Ok Im done

Do we need commandments ?
Are we slaves of God or are we very small images of God himself ?
Do we need to be told what is right thing to do through some unbreakable Commandments ?
Any number of Commandments 10 or more are and will always be expressed in "words" which are very limited in scope to express the truth.
So, no matter what and how many commandments are formed or told to us, they will never be able to answer and guide us in all situations at the present time or any other time in future.
So, do we keep making and modifying Commandments ?
The answer is to search for the truth, become truly virtuous, live a good life of a noble, responsible citizen in spite of any and all adversities that come along our way.
How can we do that ?
Not just by following Commandments but through the energy that God alone can give us to sail through this ocean of the world which is laid with many obstacles.
Commandments don't give you that energy. They are simply rules.
Only God can and can save you from misdeeds and wrong effects and let you live a good virtuous life.
Slowly pulling you towards him - the God.
As ones get closer and closer to the God, good virtues manifest and grow in one. For such people to follow commandments will become a triviality. They will not only conduct themselves by these commandments but also at a much higher moral and ethical levels.
This gives us one more analytic link.
The ethical quotient and the ability and willingness of different people to follow ethics are varying in the world.
For some following one commandment may be a triviality.
For such people higher ethical standards are desirable for his or her growth.
For others following the same commandment may be next to impossible.
Dut to this disparity How can we have the same set of commandments for everyone ?
So not inanimate rules but the God is the answer to all questions and problems. It does not matter what you choose to call God : the Ultimate, the Truth, the reality, the eternal or whatever else.

The God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament were two remarkably different gods, with the former working from fear and punishment and the latter building from love and forgiveness. The God of the 10 Commandments, the God who flooded the world in Noah's day and annihilated Sodom and Gamorrah, would probably take one look at 21st century society life and destroy us all.
The God of the New Testament, however, already revised the 10 Commandments with Jesus's Sermon on the Mount, which is more applicable to today than it was in Jesus's own time.

Lol. That's a very witty question.
I don't think He would change them because surely when He created them, He took in consideration the human as a whole, with all his features and the possible extensions of those features, so I think the Commandments fit perfectly with the standards of today. Besides, they are supposed to be general rules, rules that can easily be applied to certain standard situations. And these situations are the same. Maybe they happen in a different background today and they are surrounded by different purposes and reasons, but the essence of these situations is basically the same as the day they were first created by sinners.

No he wrote them as he saw them to be. Just because we are in the 21st century and some people live as they choose does not mean in any sense or degree we should expect a change to the 10 Commandments. Those are his Laws to be up held regardless the year, day or hour.

I don't think God would change the Ten Commandments, time repeats itself though we as humans are not aware of it. I don't think people change at all though we may think we do. Our God is selfish and means what he says rather you understand the consequences or not. God knows that people don't change and he knows that all people are the same because the Bible says so.
