I have recieved about 40 obscene phone calls to my cell phone under a restricted number, so it cannot be listed when the person calls. I called the police and filled out a report and I also called the Verizon wireless customer service and they tell me the police must contact them to get ahold of the person who is calling me. I am becoming afraid. At first, it was amusing and I thought the person would give up and tell me his name. Now he is just using filthy obscene sexual gestures. What to do next. I have had this phone number for the last 4 yrs and have no plans on changing it. Do you think the cellular company will eventually spill his name?

I turned in a report to a police investigator. I just want to know if the phone company will give his name to the police.
I want to know who is doing this to me.

In all honesty I don't think they will tell you their name for privacy reason's especially if that person is calling from a verizon phone as well but they should tell the police if they can track the private number and then the police should pass that info to you. Good luck with the investigation! I hope you catch the creep!

honestly they cant see the number, i worked for verizon for 2 years in customer service and we cant see the number. we can see all your incoming and outgoing calls but when its a restricted number its even restricted in the verizon system too. i had this question probably everyday. and it sucks that there isnt a way to get the numbers. some phones though have an option to restrict calls to where only numbers that are in your phonebook can call you. say im not in your phone book and i call u i would still be able to leave you a message, but the phone wouldnt ever ring when i called.

good luck
