Algae! Make sure it is not in direct sunlight. Also household light makes algae grow. You can buy algae inhibitor at the pet store, just make sure you follow the directions exactly on the proportions because too much can harm the fish.

The green is obviously algae. Maybe you should consider getting a snail or one of those sucker fishes to clean up the rest of the fish waste and algae build up. Plus make sure that the pH level in the water is right. That can have an effect also.

Make sure it's not in any direct sunlight as that will cause a rapid growth in algae. Add a little aquarium salt as well, as it will help deter it.
Algae are a plant and need bright light to grow, so make sure that’s not he problem.
Green algae is good, just looks really really bad.

probably because of alage. if you have the bowl near a light or sunlight that can cause it. like that other person said it will be good to get a small alage eater in the tank. they also sell anti-alage tablets that you can put in the water to get rid of the alage but i wouldnt use that because i dont know how good it is for the fish

Is the fish bowl placed near the window? If you put near the window, you should put the bowl elsewhere because maybe the sunlight is causing these algae to grow...

its because of high nitrate levels that are caused by the fish poop you can get test strips at walmart that will tell you the nitrate and ph levels in the water
it acts as a fertilizer for the algae

IF YOU KEEP THE FISH BOWL WHERE IT GETS TOO MUCH HEAT OR SUN IT WILL ENCOURAGE ALGAE TO GROW FASTER. ALSO I AGREE YOU NEED TO GET AN ALGAE EATER.AND A FEW SNAILS.
