I'm kind of confused between these numbers. Thanks for the help!

Start at the decimal point and go to the right one place. You will have .0 and .4, so which of these is larger? .4 is, so .414 is larger than .05

If you throw .007 into the mix and try to compare it with .05 you would have to go two places to the right because if you only went one place they would be the same. Going 2 places, you get .00 and .05, which of course is the larger.

notice that .05 is in the hundredth place, and .414 has a number in the tenth place, meaning that .414 is bigger. another way to check it is to subtract. subtract one from the other and if u get a negative then the number u subtracted by is the larger number. in this case, .05 - .414 = -.364 it is - so .414 must be the larger number.

1) Multiply .05 by 100 => 5
mutiply .414 by 100 => 41.4

As 5 < 41.4 then .05 < .414
