I'm not asking this because I don't already know the answer, I just want to see what others think.

BTW, I'm a happily married man who has overcome a sexual addiction, and mine started with looking at porn, and progressed from there, but thanks to the love of my wife, caring friends, and counceling I've recieved through a pastor at church, and friends keeping me accountable, I've been able to overcome it.

Usually.
It seems that any exposure to porn leads a person to want more and more, and to look for something different each time. For someone prone to sexual addiction, it causes a problem. Same as alcohol to an alcoholic, gambling to a gambling problem, shopping to a shopoholic (to the point of financial ruin), shoplifting to a shoplifter.
Although, it doesn't seem to be a problem for some people, and sometimes a couple will look at it to spice up their sex life.
God doesn' t want us to go that road though , of porn. Garbage in , garbage out, as they say.
Glad that you are working through your issue. It is a daily walk with Jesus, as it is with all sinners (or should be right?)
Take care, God bless you.
I hope that I have answered your question with the information that you need. If so, please rate me. Thank you.

I like what I hear. I think some people have an addictive way about them that is due to isolation, a trauma, or some other trigger like growing up in a difficult situation. Usually too much of anything is not such a good idea. I'm sure that sexual addiction is a complex issue. But I don't believe porn is linked to a sexual addition. I think it will harm anyone who abuses it. And it will cause harm to someone who has a sexual addiction.

First of all I don't believe in organised religions so all those talks of preachers and other jesus-freaks and whatnot, I find to me a cheap cop-out excuse. Sure the fear of the wrath of the vengeful god may be strong to force people through fear and guilt, but it doesn't make the cults' hypocrisy and manipulation of the people right.
Second, yes I agree at 100% although one is not necessarly linked to the other per se.
Sexual addiction has increased immensily since the internet. Back in the days before the internet (I come from those pre-PC days myself) p*rnography wasn't as easilly and readily available as it is now thanks to the internet. Obviously there's going to be more of a problem with p*rn today than say 20 years ago since the availability of the product is so apparent today.
This will obviously also influence the whole "getting addicted" to p*rn motif. It's like saying eating junk food will lead to obesity. It's an obvious statement which doesn't require avanced calculus as a prerequisite to understand or evewn figure out.
However the consupmtion of p*rn does not necessarly mean an addiction to sex per se. You can also become addicted to p*rn without the need to engage in sexual activities, although that isn't a common practice. You can also become addicted to sex without having to consume p*rn material in the process.
Well that's my 2 cents worth for today!

Hello!! :o) I hope you're OK. It's never good to be in a situation where we feel compelled to do something. [And powerless over stopping] And pornography can certainly become one of those 'things'. [As you know] So yes - I think that for SOME men [and some women too - for that matter] pornography CAN lead to compulsive, addictive-like sexual behavior. It can also lead to unrealistic expectations. Apparently you felt as though you got 'carried away' with all of it so I'm happy to hear that [with help] you have been freed of YOUR inappropriate sexual behavior. Take care of yourself and always be on guard. You could [once again] become 'trapped'. So be aware of that!! It only takes that 'one drink' for an alcoholic to fall of the wagon. Craig!! :o)

I think it's it linked only in the way of pornography being a part of the addiction, but not the cause. In other words, I do not think that the viewing of such will or can lead to a sexual addiction. I think that those people are simply wired different.

Yes I think it is, I have seen many that have sexual addictions and what started it all was a harmless piece or pornography and that led to more and more things down the road. It is sad but can be overcome with the support of friends, family and God.

If u have a girlfriend already u shouldnt have to look at porn sites all day. She should be good enuf. If u dont have a girlfriend than i dont think that it can lead to a sexual addiction cuz first of all u need a girl in order to be sexual. If u dont have one & u look at alota porn, then yea, you'll screw ur first girl to death when u get her.

Sorry i can't help with web pages yet you don't want one. you want to position self assurance in your self because you're 1/2 way there. once you're qualified then you definitely might want to help thousands of human beings in basic terms like you and that i, in basic terms stay sturdy . you don't want any god that can help you you or choose you, persist such as your own instincts, they have further you this far effectively.

I think most normal sexually healthy men enjoy porn, though sex addicts take it to the next level to the point where it interferes with their lives. SA's often afe infactuated with other things besides porn, casual sex, toys, etc...

No i don't think its linked to sexual addiction..some couples need it to help them out after years of the same old routine.
single people also use them to help out..some people who have an addiction to sex usually find them selves with prostitutes
