As an attorney I shared with several of my "Liberal" colleagues at a meeting things the GOP has done that are 100% beneficial to them!

Yet NONE could respond rationlly without a deluge of insults, irrational blather and just plain old hate!

What is it with the Far Left Wing ACLU Adoring Liberal Democrats?

It's just, "Hate Bush"...and that's not good for attorney's ...
We are supposed to deal with "Reason" and he "Facts" ..Helloooo?

Reason: The economy is kicking butt. It is robust, vibrant, strong and growing. In the 36 months since the Bush tax cuts ended the recession that began under President Clinton, the economy has experienced astonishing growth.

Reason: Unemployment is almost nil for a major economy, and is verging on full employment.

Reason: The Dow is hitting record highs. In the past few days, the Dow climbed above 12,000 for the first time in the history of the stock market, thus increasing the value of 401ks

Reason: No Terroist acts on USA soil

The only reason the economy is doing anything is because of historically unprecedented deficit spending by Bush and the Repugs. That's a fact.

The Dow is hitting new highs because of the collapse of the housing bubble brought on by tightening credit due to inflationary tendencies caused by deficit spending by Bush and the Repugs. That's a fact.

It took 8 years for the terrorists to stage a second terror attack on US soil after the previous one, so 5 years since the last one is not that reassuring. That's a fact.

What else you got, Bushbot?

Politics has always been a bash-fest unfortunatly with insults coming from both sides.

Often times, liberals and conservatives strive towards similar goals but disagree on the best way to go about it, as they both have slightly different ideas of what qualities society should have.

For example, liberals and conservatives both want the economy to be strong but liberals typically don't want to see this come at the cost of the environment or programs which help the needy because these are high priorities for them and they view them as investments which will ultimatly lead to a better society, but this typically means limiting corperations and spending tax money. Conservatives, on the other hand, typically believe that all else follows a strong economy and so support cutting taxes even if it means cutting programs that help the needy. In fact many conservatives believe these programs create a need dependant society.

I commend you for a civilised inquiry into a mindset you don't understand. The world would probably be a better place if everyone made an effort to try to understand everyone else a little better.

I do not believe the lack of terrorist acts on US soil since 9/11 has anything to do with who is in office right now. The current administration may have intercepted and prevented a few plots from being carried out on American soil since then but It only takes one person to commit a terrorist act and I'm sure there will eventually be another one despite the best efforts of the government.

The Dow is not an great indicator of the economy's health. While it is true these few companies are doing pretty well, if you look at broader indicators like the NASDAQ or the S&P 500, these are not doing as well. It is also clear that things are prety good if you are rich, but if you are in the middle class your costs from fuel to healthcare are going up a lot faster then your income. This means less disposable income to spend on the other things tht make the eronomy go. Remember it is not the rich that make the economy work, it is the middle class that has the bulk of the purchasing power.

I think the problem is that you're assumptions are all based on the valuing of personal gain. It what's important to Americans is to have more than everyone else, ie: high GOP, than you're right, they should be falling over themselves to kiss Bush's ***, and many of them are.
But there are problems that can't be ignored. America is fighting wars against abstract concepts that can never be won, and people are dying as a consequence. Including those who died in 9/11, which was a terrorist attack on USA soil, and what I suspect will not be the last one.
Bush is leading the country into a fundamentalist, greedy future and it's only a matter of time before we're living in a George Orwell novel. Somehow I suspect the Dow will not save any of us from this unless we protest.

Some more results.
100 American servicemen dying every month, on average, in Iraq is a waste. (does America not remember Vietnam?)
Ridding Iraq and the World of Sadam Hussein was good. Not having an exit strategy is not so good.
Refusing federal funds for stem cell research is antideluvian.
Not doing much to wean America off of oil energy is bad.
Not doing much about pollution and environmental degradation is bad.
Packing the Supreme Court with conservative mediocrity is sad.
Running up the largest trade deficit in U.S. history is not very good.
Spending more money than any previous administation is irresponsible.
Regularly antagonising some of our allies is silly. (Canada, Germany, France, Mexico etc., etc.).
There is more lots more but it's getting late.
Please note that I did not attack Mr. Bush's personality. It is uncivil and rude.
His track record suffices.

1. Because they can't admit when they're wrong (even when they see the statistics).

2. They will always take the easy road and blame others for the problems that they created (and we fixed), rather than owning up to their mistakes. Instead they'll twist the story around to make it look like republicans created the problem and they fixed it. (Suuuure!)

3. They are secretly envious of republicans but are too embarrassed/ignorant to switch sides, lest their old friends belittle them. (And their families might cut them out of the "old money" will.)

To those above ... let's not forget that illegals have been coming into this country for many, many years, including when libs were in office. Let's not forget the inaction taken during liberal presidencies when terrorists struck against us. Let's not forget who was in office when the deficit started. (See what I'm talking about above about libs twisting things around!!!)

The liberal mind isn't based on reason; liberals are religious fanatics.

Worse is that the leftist mind operates on the premise that the default setting for the cosmos is utopia, which logically leads them to claim that all systems of power (successful systems) are corrupt.

They also operate on the false premise of absolute human comparative equality, which further demands that they tear down everything successful.

I keep hoping for a U.S. Civil War 2, red vs. blue. Shooting them would just be so much easier.

Very well said. The democrats aren't in charge anymore (they had forty years) and therefore nothing good can come out of any Republican administration. The facts be damned! They are lost and haven't found any cause to support other than vilifying the president.

Who is going to pay for the biggest deficit in history? Who is going to pay for the huge influx of illegal immigrants? Who is going to pay for the pollution of our air and water and global warming? Who will pay for the billion dollara a week this cursed war based on lies is costing us? And what will happen to social security and health benefits?
The middle class, that's who. And we're fed up and damned sick of you and your rich friends who are profiteering off of our backs.
