It's because she's an automaton... Who in thier right mind would commit to Georgy unless they'd been programmed to? Watch her at televised banquets - she hardly ever eats and even when she appears to she's really throwing it in a pot plant or feeing it to Barney under the table. This suits George fine because it means that he doesn't have to make conversation at home after the taxing effort of having to string a sentence together during his busy work day.
She does have a cool first name though.... 'First Lady Laura' - for some reason I like the sound of that....

Listen my friends, to be married to Mr MAN...the shrub guy, you cannot be a human being. You have got to be a robot or something. She is literate ; he is illiterate - is that not evidence enough of the fact that she is a robot...no real literate would marry an illiterate. That said, robots dont blink!!!
