If your looking for somthing that involves contact and a little more hand eye skill. Try Rugby fastest sport on land. Rugby players are amongst the healthiest, strongest and toughest athletes on the planet. From there theres martial arts. Judo would have to be the best for a all around work out strength, cardio, flexability and if you do it regularily you won't need anythin else, plus it will teach dicipline self confidence as well as self defence.
If you are looking for somthing that will give you an all around work out, cardio, resperatory system, muscles etc... Than yes swimming is great but it will not build alot of strength. Add a little weight training with it and some yoga for flexability and you'll be in awesome shape.

I'd have to agree that swimming is it. Just think about it: you're using both arms and legs to propel yourself. Your whole body gets into it. Can you honestly think of any major muscle group that isn't used in swimming? I can't.
One friend said she thought swimming was the best form of exercise because it was the only one where you don't get sweaty!
