so lets say your block goes to war and all the familys are fighting each other. you have a million $s to spend on makin your house a war zone and you need to keep the invaders out what would you spend it on

There is no way to make yourself completely safe from those intent on doing you harm. There are no fences that cannot be breached, no walls that cannot be broken. You can only make it undesireable to try. So, if I have millions, I suppose I would move away to someplace more safe. If this is not possible I would spend on what offensive and defensive means were legally available. That means barriers, posted with Tresspassers will be shot" to slow down any incomming invaders while fortifying and arming mercenaries to shoot anyone who intrudes. Counter measures for realistic contingencies should be planned for. If the flight measure is only a delaying tactic, and the fortification also only delays the inevitable, then you would have to consider offensive action. This would mean a considerable risk, being imprisoned, or even being killed. If the alternative in the end is to be killed, or to be tortured and killed, whih would you choose?

If I have untold millions I would invest in a vast intricate system of motion detectors and high energy lasers syncronized by computers and have anyting that crossed property lines vaporized. Of course, you would have to suspend any mail service, and warn off any intruders of the lethal consequenses. You would have to turn off the system for meter readers, plumbers, electricians, food delivery people. You would also have to provide a physical barrier so no children, or non English speakers, cross into your property unaware of the danger.

As you can see, it is a complicated scenario, with no real easy or totally effective answer. It becomes even more complicated when it is not a neighborhood, but a nation. This is why it is wise to take action before a threat reaches critical levels.

1. Quarantine signs, warning the neighbors that the residents have typhoid or some other highly contageous disease, so they should stay away. Or better yet, signs that the home is radioactive, so that way they won't try to bomb it and spread the radioactivity via falling debris.

2. Become Switzerland, and sell both sides arms, food, fuel, etc.

3. Become the UN, or the Red Cross, and declare yourself neutral, humanitarian.

4. Bees. Start a honey bee farm, and have swarming bees around the house.

I've been waiting for a question like this..First thing I would do is to lay down mines in my back and front yard...secondly I would buy Rotts and Pitts that have been bred since day one to kill and follow orders...I would make sure all members of my family had body armor and sniper rifles and have them trained to become expert marksmen shooters...i would buy NVG devices for everyone (including our killer dogs) I would soundproof our home and buy a huge stereo system so i could play some John Tesh for the neighbors 24-7 or until they couldn't take it anymore and killed themselves (whichever comes first) I would have an underground bunker built to be equipped with assault rifles, food, and grenades too.
