I have seen women without their fake nails and it was discusting. My co-worker had no real nail left, it looked chewed up and the nail bed looked abnormal from years of wearing these. The chemicals can not only ruin the nails but your health too. Why do women do this??????

I am talking about long time use, like 7 or more years. And I have read lots of research that the chemicals enter the blood to cause bad health over time.

You can't just let anyone touch your nails, if you go to just any jane doe in the street and pay 20 dollars and just hand her your finger nails they take advantage and do what they want, i shopped around first and by people's referrals and i have no complaints.I've had them for three years and i can take them off and put them back on and my nails do not look bad at all. I have acrylic nails and i wear them because they look really pretty, i work for a doctor's office and i deal with patients on a daily basis and i think it looks horrible when you are typing or handing the patient something and your nails aren't done so i keep them at a good length nothing extreme and nicely painted because it looks nice. also when you dress up you look very pretty with nails that are done. also when you do a manicure the polish doesn't last as long as with acrylic nails. i think it's just a sense of style and how you want people to look at you, i always like to look nice and well dressed and i think my nails need to be well dressed too. because it is the first part of your body that you present to other people.

i reject that comment, seeing as how i get my nails done with acrylics. so far i've been getting my nails done for 2 1/2 years now and my health is fine. i've heard of people getting their nails done and getting some sicknesses, but most of those people either 1) worked in a hospital or somewhere where you can attract germs like that or 2) someone who doesnt wash their hands or have good hygiene. and yes if they break off they do look bad, and it is an addiction. but as far as im concerned there are no health risks.

you would be able to desire to easily permit your nails grown out. they're skinny via fact they sand down your nails to place the pretend ones on. in basic terms get some boost formula sparkling nail polish and attempt to end messing with them. shop them trimmed VERY short or they could tear previous your nail mattress which would be incredibly painful. it isn't any doubt certainly one of the drawbacks of acrylics. as quickly as you commence getting them, you won't be able to end, or you will could desire to flow via this. it will be a month or 2 formerly you will see your nails healthful the way they was.

i dont know. it's weird looking, especially the way most black women wear them. the REALLY long squared off tipped ones. Why is it suposed to good? it looks un natural. I have naturally very stong and long nails. But once they get long enough to have their own shadow I think they look weird.

I had acrylic nails as I had a terrible habit of biting my nails.
I just got them removed, my nails don't look 'disgusting' they look very pretty :-) They're slightly bumpy but as they grow this will dissapear.
