The TV in your house is most probably located in a position from where it can be seen or heard very clearly from your or your sister's study room. As such it wasn't switched on when your exams were in progress, as it would disturb your studies. Children have a great attraction for TV programmes. It is very easy for them to get distracted from their studies and lose their concentration if a TV is switched on at study time. Hence your parents wisely kept the TV switched off to help you prepare well for your exams. You have studied in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere and hopefully had a very good exam.
It is your sister's exam time now. Just like you, your sister also requires a quiet and peaceful atmosphere to prepare well for her exams. The TV programmes will distract her from her studies. As a loving and responsible sister, don't you think you should make this very small sacrifice for her? I understand that your mind is yearning to watch your favourite programmes on TV which you missed during the period of your exams. Moreso as you are free now, your exams being over. But just spare a thought for your sister and be a little patient. Her exams will be over in a few days. Then you and your sister can watch TV together. Till then you may help your sister in her exam preparations. That would show that you are not a selfish but a very loving and responsible sister.

Strike a bargain with her, she allows you to watch TV but you'll tone down the volume. Perhaps she does not want to b distracted. Or bring the TV to your own room...where she can't hear it.
